मृत्युप्रसंग
पांढुरकी सकाळ येताच
धावू लागली रथाची चाके;
पडले मागे ते राजवाडे,
विख्यात नगरे, तीर्थक्षेत्रे;
होई पुजाविधी स्वस्तिपाठ,
साठवित दशलक्षी पुण्य;
परी गवसेना वांछित जे
बाळगले जन्माजन्मांतरी;
सापडेल का ते आता कुठे,
प्रेम, दूरच्या तपोवनात?
वाट पाहत आहे भविष्य,
गाठन्या मृत्यू त्याच्याच घरी;
शाप नव्हे हा, शुभाशीर्वाद,
आणण्यास सुवर्णी दिवस;
असे ही घोडदौड अद्भुत,
प्रकाशाची प्रकाशाकडेच;
वाढविण्या पृथ्वीधर्म तर
होता प्राचीनतम संकल्प.
