An Applause for Earth

In haste of the brook

There’s a call for me;

I go in its speed

In search of the sea.

But it is within,

Tell me swelling tides;

In its tranquil depths

A singer resides.

He has a new lyre

Gifted by silence;

When he strikes the notes

Leans omniscience.

Winds of wonder blow

Thrilling bird and bird;

In spell of the flight

Rushes down the word.

There is sense of sound,

Sound also with sight;

Behind them all

Is mind’s search for light.

To comprehend things

Throws eye its rapt gaze;

Come smiling answers

With inspired phrase.

Knowledge climbs knowledge,

Apprehending things;

Glimmers subtle sense

Which amazements brings.

I have reached a place

Where earth and sky meet;

Scaling flame, white fire,

Each other hail, greet.

Done with the purpose

Death no more needed;

Love seeing great truth

Each where is seeded.

Sun and all the stars

Race in its prized will;

There shall be a world

Urges to fulfill.

Wonder yet! It is

Endlessly growing;

Each speck, tick of time,

In great pride glowing.

I have understood

What for came I here;

It was my wish, choice,

For the world, so dear.

Prayers, miracles,

No spell on me cast;

I’ve a work to do,

Take care of the past.

Perplexed by its tale

Is my tireless quest;

Of golden rainbow,

Many and the best.

Love earth the darling

Life’s thrust to define;

Beauty’s soul is hers,

Joy of the Divine.
