I’d a dream
I’d a dream for which I needed
No vein, sleep, just an eye to see;
It had come from a continent
Tesoro Rosso, clad richly.
It brought for me orange orchids,
Enthused I leaped to seize their pride;
Their striking stalks had memory
In which future’s hopes and joys ride.
Beauty is garden of the soul,
Inspiration poet’s zoom-wings;
Music waited for long ages,
Now there is harp with laser strings.
I can dream, can leap, oh can zoom,
With orange orchids in my hand;
Purplish is their psychic fragrance
Gifted by Lord of sky and land.
It’s not a dream, it’s something else,
Brought to me by rosiest smile;
Glowing to be great, marvellous,
Yeah, surprises me all the while.
I’ll go to Tanto for dinner,
Pasta, cappuccino ice cream;
There will be rare chandelier lights,
Wondrously lustrous in the dream.
You can be absolutely sure
Time has now acquired a new wink;
At the dinner table I saw
Guest-of-Honour enjoying drink.
Sogno di gaudio brought him
To make the world that it should be;
Enso claiming mia casa
As his, — cried the dream: “how funny!”
