A momentous triumph

That greatness jumped down from the sky,

In haste of destiny’s morrow;

Crimson seeds of rich joy it sowed,

Truth-Ideas in the furrow.

A triumphant exquisiteness, —

It spoke of the coming wonders;

Oh the harvest and the garden

And thrilled clouds adoring thunders!

There is a famed library too

Where thick tomes new marvels proclaim;

In that chandelier hall blazed words

In praise of its sovereign’s name.

And the pledge entered deep within,

In veins, ribs, of the body’ mint;

The fell hostile it transfigured

And stamped out a win with own print.

Savitri Book 4 Canto 1 – The Birth and Childhood of the Flame

In this high signal moment of the gods

Answering earth’s yearning and her cry for bliss,

A greatness from our other countries came. ||94.1||

Translating heaven into a human shape ||94.3||

A spirit of its celestial source aware

Descended into earth’s imperfect mould

And wept not fallen to mortality,

But looked on all with large and tranquil eyes. ||94.4||

“… the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.” — Matthew 6:34
