Famed Legend of Savitri

No lyre breaks there, no rosewood promise fails,

And sings perfection in colourful bird-songs;

Inspiration runs in eager riot of joy,

Fragrant breeze of spring that to beauty belongs.

Sound of music comes from sound of silence,

Roaring haste of melody and rhythm and beat;

From famed legend of Savitri jumps up the Word,

In its soaring flight soul of the earth to greet.

Orange wings have brought blue of the utmost sky

Stars diamond mysteries of the unspeaking night;

Dreams have walked distances and distances

To fetch vastnesses of the far Infinite.

No more a body with Death sitting in its breast,

The golden Light now has on it its feet pressed.
