The Winds of Wonder

A silence was heard

A silence was heard by the listening ear,

An unspoken voice echoing in the soul;

Zealous flowers in garden unseen by the eye

Smiled in rapture full of purple fragrance;

From deep infinity rushed out a growing sign,

Of manifestation that holds spirit’s wonders;

Music of the spheres rolled in paces of time,

Like songs of joy that never meet calamity;

One who came with sovereign assignment

In triumph of fortitude must confront the No;

There’s the Word of Truth and in Matter’s house

Transfigured it is going to dwell tomorrow;

Heftier might be adversary Death than Life,

But there’s fiercer Life in blazing fire of Love.

ऐकली निश्चल शांतता

ऐकणाऱ्या कानाने ऐकली निश्चल शांतता,

जीवात्म्याचे प्रतिध्वनीत न काढलेले बोल;

हसली फुले बागेतली न कधीही पाहिलेली,

जांभळटशा सकाळचा भरलेला हर्षच की;

खोल अनंतातून आले बाहेर वाढणारे चिन्ह,

आत्म्य-चमत्कारांना घडवणारा आविष्कार;

काळाच्या गतीने आले गडगडत खगोल-संगीत,

आनंदगाण्यांसम, नसे ज्याला व्यथा कशाचीही;

आला आहे तो सार्वभौम, नियुक्त कार्यास्तव,

शौर्याच्या विजयात देण्या तोंड सततच्या नन्नाला;

म्हणून सत्याचे वचन राहण्या घनत्वाच्या घरात,

उद्याच्या स्मरणातून घेण्या रूपांतरित दिव्य देह;

असेल जीवनापेक्षा मृत्यू मोठा ताकदवान शत्रू,

पण प्रबळच ते प्रेमाच्या धगधगत्या अग्नीत.
