The Mother speaks of her past appearances — 3

I heard something written by Sri Aurobindo, saying that for the Supramental to manifest upon earth the physical mind must receive it and manifest it — and it is just the physical mind, that is to say, the body-mind, the only thing that remains in me now.

And then, the reason why only this part has remained became quite clear to me. It is on the way to being converted in a very rapid and interesting manner.

This physical mind is being developed under the supramental Influence. And it is just what Sri Aurobindo has written, that this is indispensable so that the Supramental can manifest itself permanently upon earth.

[18 December 1971]

I said that between the age of eighteen and twenty I had attained a conscious and constant union with the divine Presence and that I had done it all alone, with absolutely nobody to help me, not even books, you understand! When I found one — there came to my hands a little later Vivekananda’s Raja Yoga — it seemed to me so wonderful a thing, you see, that someone could explain something to me. This made me gain in a few months what would have perhaps taken me years to do.

I met a man. I was perhaps twenty-one then, I think, either twenty or twenty-one. I met a man who was an Indian, who came from here, and he spoke to me about the Gita.

There was a translation, which, by the way, was quite bad, and he advised me to read it and gave me the key — his key, it was his key — he told me: “Read the Gita, this translation of the Gita which is not up to much, but still that’s the only one in French.”

At that time I wouldn’t have been able to understand anything in any other language. Besides, the English translations were as bad and I did not have… Sri Aurobindo had not yet written his.

He said, “Read the Gita, and take Krishna as the symbol of the immanent God, the inner Godhead.”

This was all that he told me. He said to me, “Read it with that — the knowledge that Krishna represents the immanent God in the Gita, the God who is within you.” Well, in one month the whole work was done!

 [25 August 1954]

The Word had sunk in the Yoga’s ear. The Word had sunk in the Yoga’s ear. The Word had sunk in the Yoga’s ear.

What is perhaps more important is also the waking of the Yoga’s ear, as much as the Word which comes from the creative body of the Non-manifest.

    Dear Sir 🙏

First complete reading of “Savitri around the world” on Feb 2018 with this passage of the “Word in Yoga’s ear” You can see and hear on YT done by this humble instrument amoung so many people around the globe…

Since the beginning of the earth wherever and whenever there was the possibility of manifesting a ray of consciousness, I was there.

This important sentence is on page 32 of the first volume of l’Agenda de Mère 1951-1960 in first French (with bottom of page note: Ecrit de la main de Mère) with English version below and dated 14 March 1952. Here is its original French text with a nuance:

Depuis le commencement du monde, à tout moment et partout où y a eu pour la Conscience Divine la possibilité de s’exprimer personnellement, j’étais là.

Let us always give this possibility to the Mother 🙏
