A treasure found in the ploughed field

नांगरणीत सापडले अद्भुत भांडार

नांगरणीत सापडले अद्भुत भांडार

पुरातन अग्निचा प्रज्वलित हुंकार ।

येई ऐकू ध्वनि भूमिच्या गर्भातून 

दिव्यत्व येत आहे दगडामातीतून ।

होती प्रखर साधना युगायुगांची 

ईश्वरी धारणा कृतीत आणण्याची ।

संपल्या वेदना, क्लेश अज्ञानाचे,

गेले याचकपण, कठोरत्व मृत्युचे ।  

अवतरले चैतन्याचे प्रकाशमन 

आनंदली पृथ्वी स्फूर्तीने न्हाऊन ।

उद्यान उमललेले  छंदांच्या लयीत 

खळखळणाऱ्या ओढ्याचे रसाळ गीत ।

प्रेरणा होती निखळ आविष्काराची 

सार्थकता प्रशांत सृष्टि निर्मितीची।

पुरातन अग्निचा प्रज्वलित हुंकार ।   

Found in the ploughed field a wonderful treasure

The bright flame-roar of an ancient fire

येई ऐकू ध्वनि भूमिच्या गर्भातून      

दिव्यत्व येत आहे दगडामातीतून ।   

Heard the sound from the womb-depths of the land

Divinity bursting from soil and stone

होती प्रखर साधना युगायुगांची       

ईश्वरी धारणा कृतीत आणण्याची ।

It was the intense askesis of the ages

To bring god’s desire into action

संपल्या वेदना, क्लेश अज्ञानाचे,     

गेले याचकपण, कठोरत्व मृत्युचे ।  

Gone are pangs, gone the agony of ignorance

Gone the seeking, the obduracy of death

अवतरले चैतन्याचे प्रकाशमन         

आनंदली पृथ्वी स्फूर्तीने न्हाऊन ।      

Consciousness of the Mind of Light descended

Earth rejoiced, awash in inspiration

उद्यान उमललेले  छंदांच्या लयीत      

खळखळणाऱ्या ओढ्याचे रसाळ गीत ।

In rhythmical meters the garden blossomed

Ran freely the rapid stream’s essential song

प्रेरणा होती निखळ आविष्काराची     

सार्थकता प्रशांत सृष्टि निर्मितीची।    

Afflatus of unalloyed invention

Worthy birth of pacific creation
