Famed Lady named Legend

One day famed Legend was with me for dinner,

She wearing a timely perfume of taste;

As she talked of things of flavour and food

Suddenly she spoke of the moods of time;

Time is the quiet of the rock, flight of the bird,

Applause of the concert, thought of the thinker;

And there is conscious time of revelation,

Telling death is a mask that is going away.

एकस्मिन् दिने प्रसिद्धा आख्यायिका मया सह रात्रिभोजार्थं आसीत्,

सा रसस्य समये गन्धं धारयन्ती;

यथा सा स्वादं भोजनं च विषयान् कथयति स्म

सहसा सा कालस्य मनोभावान् अवदत्;

कालः शान्तः शिलाः, उड्डयनः पक्षिणः,

संगीतसङ्गीतस्य तालीवादनम्, विचारकस्य विचारः;

तत्र च चैतन्यः गूढप्रकाशनकालः,

मृत्युं कथयितुं मुखौटं गच्छति।
