“Temporary necessity”
It was but the ghost of Mister Wrong who to me
Had come one night wearing a loose robe and a cap;
Gave me a thick blue-grey coin made of gun metal,
With figure of a shouting raven on one side;
But then from the hilltop when I tossed it up, high,
The figure it showed, dew-fresh, started smiling;
“I am a temporary necessity,” it said,
“Take from me, at present life has a need of death.”

एकदा रात्रौ शिथिलवस्त्रं टोपीं च धारयन् आगतः आसीत्;
एकस्मिन् पार्श्वे उद्घोषककाकस्य आकृतिं कृत्वा;
तया दर्शितं आकृतिं ओस-नवीनम्, स्मितं कर्तुं आरब्धा;

Death the rapacious black raven
“Ravens are massive birds with a thick neck and distinctive shaggy throat feathers. Like other corvids, ravens have strong, large feet and long bills. Most ravens are a solid black. Ravens most closely resemble the common crow, but they soar in flight, more like a hawk. Another distinguishing feature from crows are their slender wings and wedge shaped tail.”
