Dialogue between Sky and Earth

One purple morning the Sky asked the Earth:

“Where do I learn the Veda of Matter?

I might study the dense luminous and be wise,

To give to the unnameable a name.”

And she replied: “Oh but I know well the Master

Who can light a breathing flame in an earthen-pot;

Our adoration is to the supreme Fire,

To dwell in the red brick-house, and in it grow.”

अनामिकाय नाम दातुं” इति ;

मृत्तिकाकुण्डे कः प्रज्वलितुं शक्नोति श्वसति ज्वाला;

    “In Greek mythology, Gaia, or Gaea, was the divine personification of the Earth and the matriarch of all things in existence. She was also one of the primordial deities, or first gods and goddesses, and the divine personification of the Earth.” She is Prithvi. “In many Greco-Roman myths, the first deity to materialise from the primordial Chaos was Terra Mater (or Tellus Mater), the primordial goddess of the Earth. Her counterpart in Greek mythology is known as Gaia or Gaea.”
