Word and sense

Whisper from the smiling valley reached the sky,

And the dew glistened in words and metaphors;

Then brought by wonder-winged inspiration

Speeded the swift epic with truth in its beauty;

Vowels had glad ease of rhythm and movement,

And sense glimpsed beauty in forms of truth;

A vision grew widening into seeing speech

And language and significance became one.

ओसः च शब्दोपमाभिः स्फुरति स्म;

द्रुतमहाकाव्यं सौन्दर्ये सत्येन सह वेगं कृतवान्;

अर्थग्रहणं च सत्यरूपेषु सौन्दर्यं दृष्टवान्;

      Thanks for the appreciation. I will have to find someone who can do resonant Sanskrit recitation. The original is in English with a metrical form; the free rendering of it is in Sanskrit.
