“I am always with you”

Pain and joy, defeat and triumph I put

In the remote corner and remain unconcerned;

Undisfigured by desire, unruined by envy,

I mingle my flame into thy unflickering flame;

Thou ever sayest: “I am always with you”,      

True and felicitous, but let me be with thee;

There is no lack of grace, never, in the least,           

What I need is the will in my body and soul.

“अहं त्वया सह सदा”

दुःखं आनन्दं च पराजयं विजयं च स्थापयामि

दूरस्थकोणे च अचिन्तिताः तिष्ठन्तु;

अविकृतः कामेन, ईर्ष्यायाः अप्रभावितः,

अहं मम ज्वाला तव अविस्फुरितज्वालायां मिश्रयामि;

त्वं नित्यं वदसि- “अहं त्वया सह सदा”,                                  

सत्यं प्रसन्नं च, किन्तु अहं भवता सह भवेयम्;

प्रसादस्य अभावः नास्ति, कदापि, न्यूनतया,                                

मम यत् आवश्यकं तत् मम शरीरे आत्मायां च संकल्पः।

    “I am always with you.” Absolutely. But what is necessary is, we have to be always with her.

    You have said: “Always behave as if the Mother was looking at you; because she is, indeed, always present.”1 Does this mean that the Mother knows all our insignificant thoughts at all times, or only when she concentrates?

    It is said that the Mother is always present and looking at you. That does not mean that in her physical mind she is thinking of you always and seeing your thoughts. There is no need of that, since she is everywhere and acts everywhere out of her universal knowledge.

    It seems to me that the more we communicate our thoughts to her, the more we open ourselves to her forces and the more effective becomes our surrender to her. Am I right?
