My griefs count nothing

My griefs count nothing

My griefs count nothing

I have a hundred griefs but they count nothing

When I meet the single sorrow of the sky;

In the night’s heart there’s anguish of the stars

As the twinkle of beauty could never be found;

But on the race track run in diamond haste

Stallions of strength and pink-white certitude;

In the smile of tranquil love leap astonished ages

Like pilgrims who see all where only the wonderful.

मम दुःखानि किमपि न गण्यन्ते

मम शतं शोकाः सन्ति किन्तु ते किमपि न गणयन्ति

यदा अहं आकाशस्य एकशोकं मिलित्वा;

रात्रिहृदये तत्र ताराणां पीडा भवति

यथा सौन्दर्यस्य स्फुरणं कदापि न लभ्यते स्म;

परन्तु दौडपट्टे हीरकत्वरया धावन्तु

बलस्य गुलाबी-श्वेत-निश्चयस्य च अश्वाः;

शान्तप्रेमस्य स्मिते प्लवन्तु विस्मितयुगाः

यथा तीर्थयात्रिकाः सर्वे कुत्र केवलं अद्भुतम्।

    The poem contrasts the triviality of personal grief with the profound sorrow of the cosmos, ultimately revealing the redemptive power of love. Through vivid celestial and terrestrial imagery, it critiques the ephemeral nature of human despair against the vastness of universal anguish. The concluding lines emphasise that tranquil love transcends sorrow, offering a vision of spiritual fulfilment and reconciliation.

      Oh my God! Thanks for the confidence you have in me. But it can perhaps happen only with some intense will and effort and openness, but more than all that by the smile of the grace. It has to be only with deep luminous settled calm and silence. That needs great sādhanā.

    The colorful artwork, rangoli, is absolutely, stunningly, beautiful.

    Your poem is a statement of great realization. Our grief really is miniscule when we can expand our compassion to everything out there in cosmos. Your poem does true justice to this. Truly a soulful poem.

    I read the comments and like them very much.
