“In an ineffable world she lived fulfilled”
So what? But that was her own neighbourhood,
A native land with eternity’s flowering joys;
A beauty that needed not sapphire brooch of Fabergé,
Or round and large moon-pearl rings in her lobes,
She was the prime denizen of the bustling city
With gilded streets and glowing fragrant maple parks;
The mind of light ever worked in her body’s substance,
And therefore she had entered into mortal birth.

The temptation offered to Savitri is, as she has entered into the transcendental realms, to ascend to her high timeless self and choose destiny’s curve to stamp on Time her will:
Ascend, O soul, into thy timeless self;
Choose destiny’s curve and stamp thy will on Time. 153.26
She does not see anything in it that would be fitting and congruent with the mission she is to carry out, carry out in the realisation of the earthly life to become the life divine. She could live in that transcendence, but that would not have been anything new to her, that would be what is always native to her, innate to her, inborn, an energy of the triune Infinite, the supreme Force, Shakti, of Sachchidananda.
In an ineffable world she lived fulfilled. 153.30
An energy of the triune Infinite
In a measureless Reality she dwelt,
A rapture and a being and a force,
A linked and myriad-motioned plenitude,
A virgin unity, a luminous spouse,
Housing a multitudinous embrace
To marry all in God’s immense delight,
Bearing the eternity of every spirit,
Bearing the burden of universal love,
A wonderful mother of unnumbered souls. 153.31
