“I am a transience of the eternities”

If I am an unproven speck of old earth

I have in my soul a gem of eternal worth;

Wind and rain come to me from the sky of joy

Which can every citadel of wrong destroy;

I have chosen in paces of time to run,

And I win trophies for which the race had begun;

I do things because in me grows a strong will,

In that I climb — hill after tall stunning hill.

मम आत्मायां शाश्वतमूल्यं रत्नम् अस्ति;

यत् प्रत्येकं अन्यायस्य दुर्गं नाशयितुं शक्नोति;

अहं च चषकं जित्वा यस्य कृते दौडः आरब्धा आसीत्;

Whatever we see around is just like a sand-wall having a very short life. It crumbles as soon as water dries up. It is said, “World is a mere dream and a juggler’s play.” This magic show, with no reality, lasts only for a while.
