Secrecies of the night

Grim and terrible is this dense heavy night,

Shrouding the spirit though with diamond light;

No will exists there, in that opaque inane,

No smile, no hope, only distressful refrain;

Yet invisible the night watch there is,

Oh but to guard and promote its secrecies;

Hid exist possibilities in the grim darksome

Which must emerge with loud beats of the drum.

रात्रौ रहस्यानि

क्रूरा घोरं च घना गुरुरात्रिः,

हीरकप्रकाशेन यद्यपि आत्मानं आच्छादयन्;

न तत्र इच्छा विद्यते, तस्मिन् अपारदर्शकशून्ये,

न स्मितं न आशा, केवलं दुःखदः निवृत्तिः;

तथापि अदृश्यः रात्रौ रक्षकः अस्ति, .

अहो किन्तु तस्य गोपनीयतानां रक्षणाय, प्रचाराय च;

गुप्त विद्यते संभावनाः क्रूरे अन्धकारमयेषु

ढोलस्य उच्चैः ताडनैः अवश्यमेव उद्भवति।
