The Winds of Wonder

Approaching the garden

Tall trees and fragrant bushes make this garden

And there are little rocks too, here and there,

A small tranquil pool and lilies of loving rapture,

And colourful butterflies and musk-deer of hope;

And they speak of things which I never had heard,

Nor in sleep, nor blue-winged flights of imagination;

Oh the path of sounds prepared by silence,

Climbing octaves, and multiplets of harmonics!

उद्यानं उपसृत्य

उच्छ्रिताः वृक्षाः सुगन्धिताः गुल्माः च एतत् उद्यानं कुर्वन्ति

अल्पाः च शिलाः अपि सन्ति, तत्र तत्र,

लघु शान्तं कुण्डं प्रेम्णः कुमुदं च,

आशायाः च रङ्गिणः भृङ्गाः कस्तूरी-मृगाः च;

ते च विषयान् वदन्ति यत् मया कदापि न श्रुतम्,

अहो शान्तिद्वारा सज्जीकृतस्वरमार्गः,

सप्तकं आरोहणं, तथा च संगीतस्वरस्य बहुलता!
