The Winds of Wonder

In my crowded hours

My silence has deepened to hear the voice

Of infinity and I move in its sounds;

I have abandoned every desire, big and small,

And kindled a flame in fiery gatheredness;

Ecstasy, oh, but my urge is for buzz and stir,

For ripened fruit on an eager tree of works;

Thunder of infinity shall roar all around

And arouse in my crowded hours the great will.

मम सङ्कीर्णघण्टेषु                                                  

स्वरं श्रुत्वा मम शान्तता गभीरा अभवत्

अनन्तस्य च अहं तस्य ध्वनिषु गच्छामि;

सर्वान् कामान् त्यक्त्वा, लघु-बृहत् ,

अग्निसङ्ग्रहे च ज्वालाम् प्रज्वलितवान्;

आनन्दः, अहो, परन्तु मम आग्रहः गुञ्जनस्य, हलचलस्य च अस्ति,

उत्सुककर्मवृक्षे हि पक्वं फलम्;

अनन्तगर्जनं समन्ततः गर्जति

मम च सङ्कीर्णघण्टेषु महत् संकल्पं जागरयतु।
