“I drink the bitter cup of lonely death”

It is not hemlock I drink my friends watching me,

But potion brought by the Keeper of Death Mist;

If misery and poison came from chaos and night

Flaming sweetness alone can heal horrified life;

But in the sunlight of truth and joy and awareness

Must knowledge precede love, and make her strong;

Oh! to drink all evil churned out from the dark sea!

To give eternity to eternity!

“एकान्तमरणस्य कटुचषकं पिबामि”

न विषपानम् अहं पिबामि मम मित्राणि मां पश्यन्तः,

किन्तु मृत्युतुहिनं रक्षकेन आनीतं औषधम्;

यदि अराजकरात्रौ दुःखं कटुतां च आगतवती

ज्वालामुखी माधुर्यमेव त्रस्तं जीवनं चिकित्सितुं शक्नोति;

सत्यस्य च आनन्दस्य च जागरूकतायाश्च सूर्यप्रकाशे तु

ज्ञानं प्रेम्णः पूर्वं भवितुमर्हति, तां च दृढं कुर्यात्;

अहो! अन्धकारसमुद्रात् मथितं सर्वं दुष्टं पिबितुं!

अनादितस्य अनादित्वं  दातुं !

“I drink the bitter cup of lonely death”

Achlys the daughter of Chaos and Nyx is the Protogenos of Misery and Poison. She is the keeper of the Death Mist and resides in Tartarus.

The Son of God born as the Son of man

Has drunk the bitter cup, owned Godhead’s debt,

The debt the Eternal owes to the fallen kind

His will has bound to death and struggling life

That yearns in vain for rest and endless peace. ||108.33||
