The Winds of Wonder

The evolutionary flame

Who crawled there under the olive-green shadow

Cast by the imagination’s thump of joy?

Not even one idea was in the crude vast

But surged an intense flame in ceaseless search;

And life entered into the density of matter,

Courageous lady braving the storm of death;

Oh the flame only! to become conscious person!

Things began in strength of the first desire.

विकासात्मकज्वाला

कः तत्र जैतुनहरिद्राच्छायायाः अधः क्रन्दति स्म

कल्पनाया आनन्दप्रहारेन निक्षिप्ताः?

कच्चे विशाले एकः अपि विचारः नासीत्

किन्तु निरन्तर अन्वेषणे तीव्रः ज्वाला उत्पन्नः;

जीवनं च द्रव्यस्य घनत्वं प्रविष्टम्,

मृत्युवातस्य साहसं कुर्वन्ती साहसी महिला;

अहो ज्वाला एव ! चेतनः व्यक्तिः भवितुं !

प्रथमकामस्य बलेन एव विषयाः आरब्धाः।
