There is a sacred fire that burns in the heart and envelops the whole being: it is Agni, who illumines and purifies all. I kindle that fire in you each time that you ask me for some progress; but it destroys nothing except falsehood and obscurity. The Mother

It is Agni who prepares the immortal body. Establishing Agni in the body’s cells is the first step towards physical transformation. It is the psychic being who will materialise and give this new body, says the Mother. Agni is that psychic being in us, the immortal in the mortal to change mortality into his self.

About Yajña the Gita has this:

    सहयज्ञाः प्रजाः सृष्ट्वा पुरोवाच प्रजापतिः । अनेन प्रसविष्यध्वमेष वोऽस्त्विष्टकामधुक् ॥ ३-१०॥

    देवान्भावयतानेन ते देवा भावयन्तु वः । परस्परं भावयन्तः श्रेयः परमवाप्स्यथ ॥ ३-११॥

    Sri Aurobindo comments:

The Father created of old these peoples with sacrifice as their companion birth; “By this” he said, “ye shall bring forth; let this be your milker of all chosen desires. Nourish the gods in their being with this; let the gods nourish you in your being. Thus nourishing each other ye shall gain the highest good.” We see, at the same time, the Vedic origin of the central idea in the Gita, the offering of our lives & actions in a perfect sacrifice to God.

Now the Fire-Sacrifice must be done in the depths of the physical body, for the body to become Tapta Tanu, fire-baked body, with Tapas done in it. In it is the birth of the Rig Veda’s Son of the Body, Tanunapāta, Fire materialising as the divine being on earth.
